  • What lengths do Indusfloor’s Exotic flooring come in? All solid timber flooring is supplied in long random lengths from 700mm to 2200m in length, whilst the Engineered range differs between products, but is primarily centred around lengths from 700-2134.
  • Can IndusFloor's Exotic Hardwood Flooring be sanded and polished?YES. Both the engineered and solid timber floor by Indusfloor can be sanded and polished on multiple occasions. Each home is different but realistically, you wont need to consider sanding and polishing for at least 7-10 years.
  • How do I clean and maintain my floor?By taking a few precautions and setting up a regular cleaning routine and maintenance, you can expect years of beauty from your new wood floors. It is recommended that you sweep or vacuum regularly since built-up grit can damage the surface of the wood. Further tips and suggestions can be found under the downloads section of our website
  • Can my solid timber floor be directly installed on my concrete slab? No. A new solid timber flooring must be installed over a plywood base. This system of installation is recommended as the solid mass of plywood achieves a cushioned effect over the sub floor and eliminates vermin in-habitation and is a quieter floor compared to the hollow sound of the batten system.
  • What is Janka Hardness?Janka Hardness refers to a test measuring the hardness of wood. This test measures the force required to push a ball bearing made of solid steel into the wood, to a depth of half the ball’s diameter. The more force it takes to push the steel ball into the wood, the higher the janka rating. The higher the Janka Rating, the harder the timber is.
  • Can I walk on my Engineered or Solid Timber floor straight after installation? YES. This is one of the major benefits of a prefinished product.
  • Will my floor change colour over time? Very few flooring species are photosensitive, meaning they richen and darken over time with exposure to natural light and air. This natural occurrence takes place over a period of approximately twelve months, with approximately 50% of the change taking place in the first three months. After the initial three months at least half the change has taken place and the rest continues over the next nine months or so. Colour changes are likely to occur in species such as the Brazilian Cherry & Tigerwood.
  • I thought it wasn't acceptable to secret nail a timber floorboard wider than 80mm?This standard relates to structural floors. IndusFloor's Exotic Hardwood Flooring is used as a decorative floor over a plywood base, which means it can be secret nailed without issue.
  • What is the finish on Indusfloor’s Exotic Hardwood Flooring that makes it so durable?Indusfloor’s Exotic Floors are finished with nine (9) layers of highly durable titanium oxide, which guarantees longer wear, superior stain resistance and easier maintenance.
  • What is the warranty on Indusfloor's Exotic Hardwood Range? All factory applied UV cured titanium oxide surfaces are warranted not to wear through or separate from flooring for 15 years from the date of purchase. IndusFloor's also warrants against manufacturing defects caused by improper milling, grading and coating.
